First Aid in the Workplace (by SOS Oxygen Inc.)

  • The instructors, who are certified by the CSST, specialize in teaching first aid to adults. You
    will learn how to do cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), what to do if someone is choking,
    how to control heavy bleeding, how to treat fractures and burns, and what to do when
    someone is in shock.

  • 16 hours

  • May be subsidized by the CSST
 

Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Training

  • Instructors certified by the Quebec Heart and Stroke Foundation
  • Annual certification of 6 to 8 hours
  • Supervisions every 3 months
  • Quebec Heart and Stroke Foundation certificate
  • Medical direction (if necessary)

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Heartsaver Adult
    • 4 hours
    • Certificate from Quebec Heart and Stroke Foundation
  • Heartsaver Baby
    • 4 hours
    • Certificate from Quebec Heart and Stroke Foundation
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
    • 8 to 10 hours
    • Adult and child
    • Certificate from Quebec Heart and Stroke Foundation

Specialized Training

  • SOS will develop courses for specific requirements

SOS Emergency Response Training

  • Basic procedures in dealing with medical emergencies
  • Subjects covered are:
    • Risk factors, signs, symptoms and actions to follow in case of heart attack, choking,
      hemorrhaging and shock
    • The most appropriate method to administer first aid while awaiting professional
      medical aid
  • The steps of CPR
  • The use of the SOS Emergency Oxygen Inhalator
  • Duration of approximately 90 minutes
  • An SOS Emergency Response Training guide and certificate will be given to each
    participant
